Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be bet on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your computer, through an Internet connection. The rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the greatest mixture of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it is very similar as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has decided on which cards she wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be handed out. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Normally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that knowledgeable players are able to select the most profitable ones each and every instance.
As soon as the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that might have been won. Further, some versions of the game give the player a chance to increase their winnings, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
